At the end of August, just over 1000 student leaders headed to The Quinta Centre for UCCF's annual leadership training conference. The Teaching Network held our first seminars there and it was great to see over 40 of you come to connect with us.
We sang together (bliss). We learnt together (good for the heart). We connected together again (relief!). We ceilidhed and silent discoed together (sweaty). And, we prepared for the coming year together.
If you want to see a snapshot of what Forum looked like through a Bournemouth students' eyes, watch the video below. If you're a student next summer and studying Education or Teaching, you'd be really welcome to join us so watch out for the details in Spring 2022.
As well a whole programe of Bible teaching, training tracks on CU specifics and seminars on all of life as a Christian student, the Teaching Network ran 3 sessions:
- Every Child and Teacher Matters: Understanding the ways our worldviews shape our lens of the Education culture we're in.
- Work, Rest and Play: How to glorify God in your placement
- Thinking About Teaching: Open Q&A
We're getting these sessions ready to appear on the site in article form very soon.
For now though, here's one student's view of Teaching Network at Forum:
"I really love how the seminar began to explore how personal beliefs as a Christian should underpin professional philosophies.
(I'm hoping that) the Teaching Network provides a platform to discuss Christian attitudes in an increasingly secular working environment."
