Katie Bojang
Teaching Network Coordinator
Katie has worked for UCCF for the past five years as a Staf Worker with the Christian Unions in Sheffield. Her backgroung in teaching involved teaching English in a secondary school and a 6th form, and orignally studying for a PGCE at University of Reading.
"The thing I hear from current teachers the most, at the moment is, 'I wish there was something like the Teaching Network when I went into the profession'. I'm excited to get this up and running for you - what a gift to do this teaching and faith thing together - Let's go!"
Joey Kirkham
Staff Worker in York
Joey is currently working as a Staff Worker with the CUs in York and Hull. Before UCCF, she worked as a Maths teacher in Exeter and trained with the University of Bangor.
She says:
"When I started teaching I found it very hard to engage with my faith in the context of such a busy and difficult environment. I found it hard to fit in at CU or church because I felt so weighed down by work. My friends who were in 9-5s or still studying couldn't understand.
The Teaching Network could really help to understand how to live as a Christian when time pressures and responsibilities are suddenly increased in this way "
Tia Lawrence
Relay Worker and Teaching Network Elective
Tia is a Relay Worker in Sheffield working with both unis there. She studeid Early Years Education at Hudderfield Uni before working with UCCF.
Ben Smith
Staff Worker in Sheffield
Ben works for UCCF, supporting the CUs in Sheffield. Previously, he has worked as a Physics teacher and he keeps a hand in still with helping out with training sessions for Teaching Network.
